Take the time to break away...
Calderwood Hall (a three star Guest House nestled in the foothills
of the Southern Drakensberg mountains in KwaZulu Natal) is perfect
for that smaller, less formal business break away, strategic session
or meeting. It’s a place that will encourage those creative
juices to flow, a place where you will achieve the business objectives
you set for your meeting, but it’s also a place that offers
a little more. You’ll come away feeling that you did ‘get
away to the country’ even if it was just for a little while!
Our conference venue opens up onto a beautiful tranquil garden
which includes a water feature comprising of a large Koi Pond and
fountain framed by a beautiful old willow tree. Manicured lawns
surround the pond making it welcoming to delegates, encouraging
them to enjoy the country feel that is Calderwood!
Businesses from Pietermaritzburg and the surrounds will enjoy a
day conference at Calderwood Hall as it’s not too far for
the delegates to travel, but it is just far enough away to ensure
that complete break, so everyone focuses on those key issues as
well as getting to know each other a little better!
For those looking to stay over, you’ll find this is a venue
that draws everyone together, in the pub or around the pool. Being
a little out of the way, definitely has its advantages.
The layout of Calderwood Hall does allow for break- away areas,
for less formal discussions and brainstorming sessions. We find
that delegates tend to make the place their own - and that’s
the way we like it.
You’ll find our grounds are the perfect setting for any outdoor
activities you may want to plan as part of your conference. Our
Links page may give you some ideas as to
what can be arranged. It is not exhaustive, just a starting point
for those of you who want to add another dimension to the meeting.
We can host up to 70 delegates and can set out the conference
venue according to your needs, whether its cinema style, schoolroom
or U shape. The venue is air conditioned for your comfort.
For banqueting purposes (ie for function purposes) the venue can
be set for up to 150 guests but not all guests would then be able
to stay with us at Calderwood Hall.
